About

Elisa von Perger is a set and costume designer based in Perth, WA. A graduate of WAAPA’s Design program (2024), Elisa has a passion for live performance. During her time at WAAPA, Elisa has worked across a range of genres, from drama and opera to musical theatre, contemporary dance and performance making, as well as working on productions at the Blue Room Theatre and the WA Screen Academy.

 

Most recently, Elisa designed the set and costumes for In The Closet, an original dance work choreographed by Natalie Allen for WAAPA’s Verge dance season, presented at the Heath Ledger Theatre. Prior to this, Elisa designed the costumes for WAAPA’s Legally Blonde: The Musical, directed by Crispin Taylor. This year, she also completed her industry placement on the WAO/Opera Conference production of Rusalka, assisting the set and costume designers as a design/production assistant.

Her design style is often stylistic and illustrative, stemming from an interest in history, visual arts, and literature. Elisa has a strength for naturalism and detail, but also enjoys experimenting with conceptual, unexpected creative solutions and design responses. Elisa is committed to the art of storytelling and world-building, reflecting this through her work and commitment to excellence.
